Your Usc Former Trojan Opponent- Washington Huskies
The Other side:
USC couldn’t have pick a better time to play the Huskies then now. After the announcement of Ty resigning as head coach at the end of the season, the Washington program becomes a real messy situation and now needs to refocus all their energy towards finding a new head coach.
With the Huskies’ program without a head coach for next year, it leaves the players and other coaches in a very odd position. For one, the assistant coaches will probably not be rehired for next year leaving their future uncertain and completely changes the social dynamics between the players and coaches. How do you motivate a player whom knows you might not be back next year?
If leaves us with the most puzzling question that has hit Seattle since A-Rod and Randy Johnson played in Seattle, who will be the next head coach at Washington?
According to UW Dawg Pound from SBC nation , here’s a list of potential candidates:
Big Names.
- Jim Mora Jr (Seahawks)
- Gary Pinkel (Missouri)
- Jeff Tedford (California)
- Butch Davis (North Carolina)
- Les Miles (LSU)
- Mike Riley (Oregon St)
Smaller Names.
- Pat Hill (Fresno State)
- Chris Petersen (Boise State)
- Gary Patterson (TCU)
- Todd Graham (Tulsa)
- Randy Edsall ((U-Conn)
- Brian Kelly (Cincinnati)
- Jim Harbaugh (Stanford)
- Mike Leach (Texas Tech
Unemployed Names
- Lane Kiffin

- Brian Billick
Hot Assistant Coaches
- Dave Christensen (Missouri)
- Will Muschamp (Texas)
- Brett Vennables (Oklahoma)
- Bob Gregory (California)
- Steve Sarskisian (USC)
- DeWayne Walker (UCLA)
From the various information that I’ve gathered it looks like Huskies nation wants Jim Mora Jr.
Seattle Time’s writer Danny O’Neil writes on Why isn’t Jim Mora talking ? Silence only fans flames
Dawgpound writer John Berkowitz writes Hire Jim Mora
Ty’s last pregame words as a head coach against USC.
How does USC compare to Oklahoma?
"I think they are close, if not better.”
-Ty Willingham
Washington Huskies goal against USC.
"The goal now is to be much more aggressive and assertive in who we have to be to be the team we have to play,” he said. "This (USC) is not a football team you can play or defeat being passive. You’ve got to be ultra aggressive against this team. That means coaches, players, even our equipment guys have got to be ready to be aggressive in this ball game and if you don’t, then you don’t have a prayer.”
-Ty Willingham
And Lastly,
I found a great piece describing how the situation at Washington could have been different if the Big 3: Taylor Mays, Stephen Shilling, and Jake Locker all committed to the Huskies in the class of 2006.
Taylor Mays committed to USC. (Fight On!)
Stephen Shilling committed to Michigan. (They still have a football team?)
Jake Locker committed to Washington. (Great player, but injuries have gotten the best of him)
Fight On, USC Trojans!
