An Update on Washington Huskies Coach-Steve Sarkisian

A big, bold, and risky move pulled by the Washington Huskies’ program to sign Steve Sarkisian to become their next head coach. For one, he’s to improve the winless Huskies, but it shouldn’t be a problem after already cleaning house. Fresh, new energy, and a change of style should motivate the Huskies into the right direction. Even Nike has a foot in things, by re-designing the Huskies’ uniform for next year. Just hope, it doesn’t go through the many different 8th grade science experiments that the Oregon’s uniforms has gone through. Anything, but Ty the Huskies’ faithful have been screaming. The new expression sung by the Dawgs, "Sark it, Bark it, Or Park it."
Steve Sarkisian has empathizes and starting to evoked change in several components of the Huskies’ program such as opening practices to the public or media, the need for speed needed in the offensive and defensive side of the ball, and better conditioning of their athletes. However, how long it will take to turn around the Huskies’ program will remain to be seen.
Lofa Tatupu on comparing Sarkisian to Pete Carroll
"He’s got the same kind of energy and enthusiasm and I think that’s important. He’ll bring that competitive edge and life, not just to the games but to practice, and I think that’s as important, that preparation for the game. And he’ll bring that edge to it. There are going to be some exciting things happening."
Matt Cassel on comparing Sarkisian to Pete Carroll
"I’m happy for him," Cassel said. "He’s a great coach who brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Very similar to Coach Carroll, he’s got a lot of charisma. He’ll do a great job here. He’s got a brilliant mind and really works hard at what he does."
Former BYU coach LaVell Edwards on his former player Steve Sarkisian.
"I think if you are going to take a gamble on a 34-year-old young man with no more experience than what Steve has I think Steve is the guy,” Edwards said. "He’s going to be as well-prepared as anybody could be, and when I say that I’m talking emotionally and mentally and the whole works. He’s not an in-your-face type of guy but he’s going to command respect just the way he does things. And he’s not afraid to step up and let you know what you need to do. I just think it’s a very good gamble for Washington.”
