After Pete Carroll’s departure from USC, the hottest seat in college football was without a coach. Former USC coach Lane Kiffin is back at USC with his dad Monte Kiffin and Ed Orgeron. There’s rumors that Norm Chow will be hired as the Offensive Coordinator, but he wants NFL-type money. Tim Davis, Offensive Line coach for the Minnesota Gophers is also rumored headed back to USC.

USC beat #8 Tennessee 77-55 and handled Bruce Price his worse loss as Tennessee head coach.

Mike Gerrity, first game as a Trojan was an unbelievable performance as he scored 12 points and dished 10 assists. Alex Stephenson scored 19 points and grabbed 15 points. Nikola Vucevic scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Savvy player, played a great, great game.

An uneducated person could see how different our team is with a true point guard.

Our other best play maker is Leon Washington and he’s going to eligible soon. It’s going to easier for Dwight Lewis to score.

Team works hard every practice and once the team comes together; we will be a competitive team.

Remember former USC assistant Lane Kiffin coach who became the Oakland Raiders head coach who got fired, and was hired  two months later to be the Tennessee Vols’ head coach?

A lot has happened in the short time period as the new Vols’ head coach. He’s already gained the respect from the Tennessee fans, working long hours before the signing period is up, and creating a buzz in Tennessee. Even before his first day on the job Steve Spuirrer took a jab on his recruiting efforts. Welcome to the Sec, Mr. Kiffin.

Would one consider USC’s season a failure since they didn’t reach the BCS Championship game?

The loss against Oregon St was unbelievably tough to swallow, and left a reminder to the nation that this year team was beatable, or human after all. However, the Pac-10 didn’t help USC in the Media’s eye by losing important OCC games, and not having a consist number one team. It was not until the last week of the season that the Pac-10 title winner was established.

The Trojans had tough luck, once again, and could do nothing to help their chances in the National picture for the BCS Championship. A one loss Florida team will play a one loss Oklahoma team on Thursday for the BCS Championship. Many have argued that a one loss Florida team shouldn’t have jumped the Trojans since they loss at home to Old Miss while USC played an Oregon St away. One should not argue too much with the details since it’s comparing apples to oranges, or rather crystal to roses.

What one can look back is a season that fellow Trojans should be proud of. We didn’t know what to expect of new quarterback Mark Sanchez. Would he fulfill the legacy left by Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, or the often loved/hated John David Booty? He stepped right into the job, and played great when it counted. He had first year jitters, but finished off the year on a high note with an astonishing performance against Penn St.

Damian Williams demonstrated why he was so converted by the Razorbacks. He established himself as the number one receiver in first year as a Trojan. Rojo and Patrick Turner also played well in countless number of games. Videl Hazelton was lost in the shuffle, and decided to pursue his career elsewhere.

The Running backs were also supportive, and played a pivotal role in USC’s offensive. Their wasn’t a running back who become a standout back, but each had their moment this year. Stafon Johnson, C.J Gable, Joe Mcknight, Broderick Green, and even Marc Tyler got playing time. Sadly, Broderick Green decided to transfer and will be a Razorback next year.

Defensive, defensive, and defensive was the main component that troubled every Trojan’s opponent. Speed, agility, and a NFL caliber mentality created havoc for everyone, and not even the ageless Joe Paterno could stop it. Pete Carroll should be proud of this year unit.

With so many talented athletes at every position one couldn’t believe that Emmanuel Moody to be last Trojan to transfer, and it wasn’t the case. Vidal Hazelton, and Broderick Green both transferred. It wasn’t their time at USC, and they should be well-prepared and conditioned at their future program.??USC might not have the respect from across the country, but we did see USC look-a-like being formed in the North-west and in Tennessee. Two former assistant coaches Steve Sarkisan and Lane Kiffin were hired, and told to build their own Rome. Along the way, both took with them some fellow Trojan’s coaches, and hoping their philosophies, guidance and personalities will make a lasting impression to change their respected program.

As for the future, USC will once again be a driving force for next year. People believe the talent will be down a notch, with the massive graduation, but expect them to be front runners to win the Pac-10, and challenge for a national championship. Yes, they did lose some outstanding players, but this is expected in the Pete Carroll era.

Remember the preseason hype, the blue-sky-anticipation for UCLA’s football season to begin. UCLA had not one, but two coaches whom promised rapid change and to bring UCLA’s football into the national spotlight. WHOA NELLIE!

It happened alright, but only for one game against the Tennessee Vols. On September 1, in a horrible game, played by both sides, UCLA won 27-24.The Vols’ spirit could never recover from this defeat and continued the season with losses to: Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Wyoming.

Twenty-nine days later in Oakland; Lane Kiffin was battered grey and bruised black and questioning his own self-worth. In a defensive reaction, Kiffin lay low and avoiding all media spotlight

Exactly four months later, Lane Kiffin the former USC and Raider’s head coach was a completely different man. His body was neither gray nor black. He was standing tall and proud in orange as the new Tennessee Volunteer head coach. So, thank you Bruins for helping out a fellow Trojan out, but don’t expect any gratitude for it this weekend.

It’s official Lane Kiffin to Tennessee.

Lane Kiffin was announced to be the Vol’s head coach and to restore Tennessee’s tradition in the SEC.  It’s rumored that his dad Monte will be his defensive coordinator.
Coach O has also been mentioned in the mix.

Can anybody say USC-East?

Everyone who has ever hated on Pete Carroll and USC in SEC Country are trying to do their best to duplicate it. Hire a former USC coach, lure more former USC coaches, and hope you hit the jackpot. Isn’t this what UCLA tried to do? Hire the Weasel, the  Trojans offensive mastermind Norm Chow and try to lure Norton back to the school that previously rejected him? Is this the future of college football?

Hire any former USC Trojan coach and hope for Pete Carroll #2 to develop.

Basically, it’s an SC bashing party. He believes Kiffin is inexperienced and shouldn’t have been offered the job since he has no previous college head coaching experience. He even bashes Coach O for his recruiting tactics at Old Miss.

What a difference a couple months makes?  A couple months ago, Lane Kiffin was in Oakland arguing with Tom Cable, and good old Al Davis. He was trying to figure out his quarterback who was inconsistent and figuring out the pieces to his lackluster team.
