With the recent opening of the ESPN West Coast studio, and it’s first broadcast of SportsCenter on Monday night, will this be the end of ESPN East Coast Bias?

The opening of the ESPN West Coat studio is a step in the right direction to globalize sport’s more nation-wide, but it remains to be seen if it will have any difference in broadcasting more west coast games.

Here are several reasons why I believe ESPN will not end its East Coast bias:

(1) A game broadcast at 8:00 PM Pacific Time will be broadcast at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, and far too late for anyone on the East Coast to watch.

(2) Broadcasting games on television are all about rating, and there are more East Coast’s viewers.

(3) ESPN started, and is based in Connecticut. East-Coast.

And please, write a comment, and express your thoughts on the subject…
