David Bluthenthal signed with Le Mans of the French League where he will join fellow former USC Trojan Sam Clancy Jr. La Mans finished first in the French league standing, but were defeated in the semi-finals by Nancy.
David played last year for Maccabi Tel Avil of the Israel league and averaged 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and shot 90.9 percent from the free throw line per game.
On the other hand, Sam Clancy Jr was the leading scorer for Le Mans and averaged 14.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and shot 56.4 percent from the free throw line per game.
I wonder how much influence Sam had in bringing David to Le Mans. It sounds like a script from a comedy movie. Imagine Sam, all 6’7 and 245 lbs of him, explaining to his french GM in English the importance of getting his half Jewish/Half African-American friend to join them for next season. C’est la vie
Who would have expected it to be in France?
